Following Fukuoka Airport, the introduction of an Explosives Detection System (EDS) manufactured by SureScan, Inc. of the U.S. has been decided at Kansai International Airport and was published in the Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun.
SureScan x1000 (SureScan x1000) is a device for checked baggage inspection that can detect explosives with high accuracy and has excellent identification capability with a false positive rate less than half that of competing products. Operation is scheduled to begin in April 2026.
