President's Message

Our pursuit is to be the most stylish and cool “small general trading company” in Japan.

EBISTRADE, is a small general trading company with the slogan “Japan’s most energetic.

We are a trading company, but not as distributor or sales agent
We are a manufacturing company that creates frameworks for businesses.

Just because a product is good, doesn’t mean it will sell. That’s the unfortunate truth of the business. In order to sell, a “structure” is needed. EBISTRADE is an expert group of people who create structure for businesses. Our company has created a number of Japan’s first and world’s first businesses through the development of the EBISTRADE-style business structure. We love doing this.

In general, companies tend to think they should do anything so long as it grows the company, but in reality, I have experienced that if the size of the business becomes too large, the field that can be successfully tackled becomes too small. In addition, due to the rapid pace of modern society, we are not in a “win big or small” but a “win fast or slow” generation. This has changed the field so that the “What can we do?” opportunities for small-to-medium sized enterprises are now greater than the major players. Also, from my own personal experience, I often have felt more exhilarated when I did the 10 million JPY work more than the several hundred million JPY work. Frankly, the size of work does not necessarily relate to how interesting it is.

On the other hand, currently in Japan, there is a system in place which subcontracting companies rarely make profits. Many people believe “small‐to‐medium‐sized enterprise” equals “subcontracting company,” but this is wrong. Unquestionably, the majority of subcontracting companies are in fact small-to-medium sized enterprises, but it doesn’t have to be that subcontracting companies must be small-to-medium sized enterprises. The point is there is a difference between becoming a business operator or not and in fact, to become a business operator, we may ask a major company to be a subcontractor.

Our company’s challenge is to become the most stylish and cool “small general trading company” in Japan.

VISION

All people who are doing great business have the “Ebisu” face (Ebisu, the smiling Japanese God of good commerce and bountiful fishing).

The meaning of “EBIS” has three origins: “e business,” “ii business” (pronounced as “ee” and means “good” in Japanese), and “Ebisu.” These three words have always been the foundation of our company’s sales vision.

At first, our company was founded in “e business.” EBISTRADE was founded in March 2000 with the goal of launching an IT business with unlimited potential (incubation) under the banner of an Internet general trading company. Since then, we have expanded our business from IT to new segments such as the environment, safety, automobiles, Russia (Siberia and the Far East), as well as healthcare and biotechnology.

The second is “good business” which expresses our company’s business philosophy. A good business not only makes the person who does the work happy, but also the people around him or her. This energizes society and brightens the world. If you can work happily, your life will be enriched. People who say, “My hobby is my work.” are irresistibly attractive. So how do you make your work fun? There are two tricks to it. The first is “the act of doing something thoroughly.” It’s not that you can work hard when the work it’s fun, you make work fun because you are working hard. The second is “be sure to produce results.” No matter how good your work is, the process alone is not enough to satisfy you. The result makes you feel confidence and joy. So how do we get results? We must not to give up until we get the result we want, but at same time do not forget to be flexible and free from unnecessary stereotypes for the purpose of producing results. In our company, all of our employees have fun with the customers by doing good business.

Lastly, “Ebisu” represents our company’s core competencies. “Ebisu” is the Japanese god of good commerce and bountiful fishing. Like Ebisu, the god of business, our company aims to be a “professional group in business.” Even in a mature industry, new ideas, technologies, and products are being created every day. However, many of them have high potential value, but have not been recognized by the market due to lack of marketing ability. Our company wants to be the conduit between entrepreneurs and the market by getting as many of these promising projects out there as possible.

“All people who are doing great business have the “Ebisu” face.” It is our dream to make a company full of smiles like that.
